Note to our readers:

No experience required, no money down, no gimmicks or hidden fees

Need help putting your ideas together?  There is only so much a pinterest board can do for you.  Why not take the room ideas you find there and use it to create your own personal space?  There are many online resources that can help you visualize your space and plan what size furniture will fit! We have picked out a few of our top favorites.  With our new website design we will soon be offering our own online room planner including our full line of furniture.

Some of our top favorites are: Floorplanner, MyDeco, Autodesk Homestyler, Olioboard, Roomsketcher, Space Designer 3D and Amikasa (just to name a few).

#1 – Floorplanner

This is one of our top favorite online room design programs to work with.  It is very easy to use and offers a wide range of options for flooring, wall coverings, furniture and other pieces for your home.  There are plenty of tutorials to help you quickly get started.  Put in your own room dimensions or use one of their pre-programed room shapes.   View your personlized space in 2D or 3D.  http://www.floorplanner.com/

#2 – MyDeco 3D Room Planner

MyDeco is another great online resource to planning your own room in minutes.  This site is easy to use and offers a camera view to help you view your room from any angle and create a photo rendering.  The furniture and accessories you select from are actual items found online.  Start from scratch or choose from a room already created for your.  Video tutorials are available to help.  Share your room creations online to show off on Facebook or see what other users have created.  http://mydeco.com/rooms/austin/

#3 – Autodesk Homestyler

Autodesk is known for their professional (and expensive) design programs to help in designing projects.  Not only do their programs offer design capabilities but also planning spaces.  This is where their free, online program Homestyler comes in handy.  Easy friendly and no formal training required.  Toggle between 3D and 2D modes quickly to provide a “realistic” view.  Furnish and decorate your space any way you want! The program includes known brands like Flor, Sherwin Williams and even Kohler.  Create your space, print it off and voilà you have your own personalized shopping list right in the palm of your hand.

#4 – Olioboard *Our new favorite find!*

Free and web-based, keeps your organized and create wish lists with actual products.  This website is a great tool for designing your own rooms.  Even if you aren’t a professional interior designer this is very user friendly! Upload your own photos and create your own Olioboard “Moodboard”.  The Olioboard community comments and shares boards that they have created.  This site is very similar to the popular website Polyvore.com, but in our opinion is much easier to use.   http://olioboard.com/

#5 – Roomsketcher

This is another very easy and user friendly web-based program to help design your own space.  They use actual products from stores like Ikea and Cate and Barrel, so you can design the space and go out and buy it! We are looking at adding the Cranium Furniture line to their product offerings.  There is a camera feature to help you take snapshots of the room.  There is also a Home 360 feature, which gives you a 360 degree view of your snapshot.  All you have to do is sign up and use the program.
